Exceldor Cooperative provides over 1.2 million meals for Drive Away Hunger campaign

As part of the Drive Away Hunger campaign, Exceldor Cooperative is providing an equivalent of 1.2 million meals to food banks across Québec, Ontario and Manitoba.

Drive Away Hunger is a cross-Canada effort to create partnerships between communities and donors to feed people in need. Founded by Farm Credit Canada (FCC), the industry-wide initiative has been collecting food and cash for nutritious meals for the past 19 years across Canada.

« As a cooperative that operates in the agri-food sector and considering our mission, it is only natural for us to get involved in the fight against hunger in the regions where we operates. »
- René Proulx, President and CEO.

Seventy-five food banks from across Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba received product donations, for a total value of over $615,000.

« It should be noted that this contribution is in addition to the $92,000 that was donated in cash and products to more than 70 non-profit organizations, causes, events and festivals through sponsorships. Finally, let's underline our singular contribution for years to the Moisson Québec Golf Classic which generated a record profit of $290,000 in 2022 and some 2.5 million dollars since we started to sponsor the event in 2010. » - Isabelle Dorval, Marketing and Communication Director
